You can wear a bun for pretty much any occasion from weddings to work to school. I consider it the universal hairstyle. Below are a couple of styles that I have done to my daughters hair incorporating the bun. As I was looking through these pics I was noticing how awful my house looks. We were right in the middle of redoing our floors and peeling off old wallpaper so please disregard the mess :)
This is what I call the spiderweb bun. I love this and it stays for days. I just wrap her hair up at night and it stays very well as long as she doesn't flop around too much in her sleep and pull the hair wrap off.
Here is the full head spiderweb with a braided bun. This style takes me awhile to do but we just love it and my daughter is such a trooper to sit still for all this time.
This is one that I have just done recently after I have finally figured out how to master the bun. Before this time I thought that you secured the hair to the bun with bobby pins. Thanks to youtube I finally figured out that you put the elastic over the bun to secure it. Now her buns look much sleeker and neater.
